doctor appointment update

I had my first internal exam today.  I had said that I was going to refuse them because they don't necessarily mean anything.  However, when the nurse gave me the cozy paper sheet and told me to get undressed, I obliged without a word of protest.  Just like me...I talk a really good game, but when it comes down to it, I listen to anyone I perceive to have authority over me.  Oh well.  I learned that I am not dilated (shocker), and my cervix is starting to thin.  The doctor believes that I will definitely make it to my appointment next week. 

I also learned that my Group B Strep culture came back positive.  This upset me a little bit.  I hear women say all the time that it is no big deal, I will just have to be on IV antibiotics while I labor.  But upon doing research, it looks like even babies born to mothers on antibiotics can get sick, and it can be very serious for babies. I know the odds are everything will be ok, but I will worry nonetheless.
