Do IF meds contain gold and unicorn dust???

Because if not, why the fuck are they so expensive???   I was expecting the meds to cost around $600 because I remembered 2 years ago that's how much I paid before the insurance snafu was fixed.  Of course I didn't realize those were actually different meds, so I guess that doesn't help.  Anyway, my expected $600 was more like $1800.  I know it's not a lot in comparison to IVF drugs, but still.  I really hope it works the first time around because if not I will seriously consider using the expired gonal-f I have from my last IUI.  Anyone know of cheap places to get this crap?
