After at least a month of stressing out, I finally had the endometrial biopsy yesterday afternoon. It definitely was not as bad as I anticipated, and not as bad as the HSG. I don't think I felt the tenaculum at all. When she inserted the catheter to collect a sample, I felt cramping like I did when they inserted the catheter during the HSG. The worst part about the HSG was when they were pushing the dye through, so I didn't have that pain this time. I could feel her pushing the catheter in and out a few times, and while it was uncomfortable due to the cramping, it was not unbearable. She went back a second time, but then it was over. Apparently my cervix was bleeding at the tenaculum site, so it took a few minutes of pressure and some silver nitrate to stop that. And then everything was done.
When I got home, "S" (how I will refer to my husband from now on) made me lie in bed. He's a sweetie! I felt crampy all night, but again, not as bad as the night of the HSG. The worst part was that my back is really sore from falling yesterday, so when I would try to get in a comfortable position for my back, my cramps seemed worse. And when I got in a good position for the cramps, my back hurt. So far I've had very minimal spotting - and I'm not even sure it was blood, it could have been residual betadine.
The best part of the visit was now having a plan. I am going to start 50 mg of Clomid next cycle. I'm very excited and hopeful! I will start Provera today, and hopefully will be having "regimented robot sex" (© my friend Frenchy) in about 3 weeks.
